What is an Anti-Blowout Stem? Unlike standard stems that can be ejected if packing gland components fail under pressure, an anti-blowout stem features an integral T-shaped shoulder. This shoulder is inserted from the inside of the valve body, ensuring that internal fluid pressure actually pushes the shoulder tighter against the body seat, preventing the stem from blowing out even in extreme overpressure scenarios.
