CF3M Cast Oxygen Valve Body

The valve body shown here is produced from CF3M stainless steel, the cast equivalent of 316L. This grade is frequently specified for oxygen service because of its low carbon level, stable behavior under moisture, and reduced risk of contamination during gas flow. The part is first cast to a dense, near-net shape and then finished on CNC machines to reach the required dimensional accuracy. Areas that interface with seals, gaskets, or internal trim receive additional machining to maintain flatness and surface consistency.

During development of this part, the internal flow passage was kept as uniform as possible. A smooth flow path helps the valve maintain steady oxygen delivery, especially in systems where purity and pressure stability are critical. In industrial oxygen pipelines, even small interruptions or turbulence may influence downstream equipment. For that reason, the geometry inside this CF3M valve body is controlled carefully throughout both casting and machining.

The body has a reinforced neck and stable wall thickness around the flange. These features help the valve maintain structural reliability when exposed to temperature swings or vibration, which are common in oxygen generating units, cryogenic systems, compressor lines, and general industrial gas distribution installations. CF3M also handles mild chemical exposure well, making it suitable for mixed-media facilities where oxygen lines may pass through humid or chemical-rich areas.

Many projects require variations in flange layout, bolt circle diameter, or machining steps. These adjustments can be made directly according to customer drawings. For OEM work, it is common to supply both a cast-only version and a fully machined version, depending on the assembly process at the customer site. Dimensional checks are performed after machining to confirm critical tolerances. Material certificates, including chemical composition and mechanical properties, can be provided in EN10204 3.1 format.

In typical use, this oxygen valve body is installed in shut-off valves, regulating valves, or other stainless-steel valve assemblies that operate in oxygen lines. The material offers stable performance during long operating cycles, and the casting maintains its shape well even under continuous pressure fluctuation. Because oxygen systems place strict requirements on cleanliness, no machining oil or contaminants remain on the part; cleaning procedures can be carried out according to customer standards.

If the project involves pressure testing, special cleaning procedures for oxygen service, modified surface roughness, or other machining details, these can be arranged as needed. For users who operate cryogenic oxygen systems, the valve body can be delivered with specific low-temperature considerations, such as controlled grain structure and additional inspections around the inlet and outlet regions.
