Function & Scope
Component used to support and locate the ball within a ball valve assembly, maintaining geometry for sealing and smooth actuation. For industrial service with corrosive media where 304L stainless steel is acceptable.

Material

• Grade: 304L stainless steel

• Specifications: ASTM A240/A276; UNS S30403; EN 1.4307

• Condition: Solution annealed; no hardening heat treatment required for austenitic stainless steel

Manufacture & Finish

• Process: CNC turning/milling, drilling, deburring

• Surface: As-machined; optional chemical passivation per ASTM A967; electropolishing on request

• Edges: Burr-free; controlled chamfers per drawing

Geometry & Tolerances (unless otherwise specified by print)

• Dimensional capability: ±0.02 mm typical on critical features

• Bolt-hole pattern: true position per drawing; concentricity/flatness controlled to seating face

• Surface finish: as-machined Ra per drawing

• Marking: heat number / part number (laser or dot-peen) on request

Interfaces

• Seating face to mate with valve seat/ball geometry per customer drawing

• Bolt holes/counterbores/spotfaces per drawing; gasket/stop surfaces as specified

Operating Considerations

• Media compatibility: per 304L stainless steel limits

• Temperature/pressure: defined by valve design and seat materials; this component does not set the valve rating

Quality & Inspection

• 100% visual inspection; dimensional sampling or full CMM per order

• PMI (Positive Material Identification) on request

• Certificates: EN 10204 3.1 material test report; passivation/electropolish certificate if applied

• Cleanliness: degreased and protected for shipment; packaging to prevent damage to seating surfaces

• Alternate hole patterns and seat geometries

• Special surface finish requirements

• Traceability and serialization per order

• Custom packaging (VCI, foam inserts, individual bagging)
